dm800hd tuner problem

    dm800hd tuner problem

    i just got a dm800hd clone and when i scann channels it gets to 50% with 481 services then goes to 100% but finds no more services i have two boxes both have different image on them so it not the image. can any1 help me

    What revision tuner is inside the DM800, this could be one cause

      Put a bouquet list on it like Catseyes and that should sort it.

        how do i tell what revision of tuner my box has i no its a alps tuner and it says 401a on it

          That's the M 401a not as good as the M801a tuner.
          Did you try catseyes bouquets.
          Put them on with dreambox edit.

            thanks for reply mate, yes i put cats eyes on soon as you advised but noo joy. i think i might need to order a stronger tuner.

              Try the other tuner from the other box.
              What sort of snr are you getting on your channels.
              Could be dish alignment or faulty lnb.
              Sure on service scan you can change tuner type.
              Make sure it says Tuner A and looks the same as in the pic below.

                ok mate problem is the tuner itself. i had another dm800hd at my mums house so i took the box round took them both apart and noticed that my mums box had rev m 801a were as mine had 401a i try 801a in my new box and walla the problem was gone. hope this helps ppl in the future.

                  That's good the M 801a tuner is far superior to the M401a tuner.
