Help! box auto reboots at 00:00 :(

Please can somebody explain why all of a sudden my box (SR4 DM800 HD SE, with Nemesis Image) is now rebooting at 00:00 ?

It's not a huge problem but it wipes all the crossepg data for some reason and so nothing gets recorded the next day!

Was it a clean image you installed or someones backup as they may have had a reboot script enabled for that particular time, if not then have a look in the menu system in Crossepg for any reload etc...

It was a clean image and "schedule download" (feature which reboots after downloading) is DISABLED.

Post imaging, I have installed the following:

--> auto timers
--> gemini project 3 (blue panel)
--> timeupdate_0.1.0-r0_linux-sat (from tspanel, addons, tunisiasat, plugins)
--> elgato HD (skin)

I don't think any of these addons will do this as I have used with many other images and not had this problem.

As I've said in my other post with the countless problems I've had with this dreambox, I bought in november 2012 for the sole purpose of recording shows based on keywords entered, it is now month 5 and still having troubles..
I really don't know if god is trying to send me a message or I am just extremely unlucky, I can't believe nobody else has these problems if they are using the same box and same image and software as me.. or do they? I wonder..

anyway, hopefully this is the last issue I have then I can finally start recording shows!

Have you got anything like auto bouquets or another plugin which has been set to restart the box.

Normally though if you have installed a plugin with default settings it normally doesnt set shutdown/restart schedules but it maybe worth looking at further.

nope, no plugins that affect bouquets or channels, the only plugins I have added to this nemesis image are listed above.

I could re-image again, and install all the plugins again, but I don't see how this will make any difference as I just imaged this about a week ago in this same process.

Make sure cross epg is not requesting to reboot after download, in the configuration

Scheduled download is not even enabled, and even when it is there is no option to reboot.
I have seen this reboot option in other images when you install crossepg, but this crossepg comes built-in with the nemesis image, see pics below.

Have you checked the crons manager ? if you have tspanel go to tools 2 then crons manager it might have a set time to reboot , it might help if you select yes to the "enable csv import" , "force epg reload on boot" and "download on tune" in your configuration. so if it does reboot crosspeg will force epg reload

no joy, it's still rebooting at 00:00.
changing the settings as you suggested does stop the EPG from being wiped (which is my main concern), but it's still rebooting which is annoying if recording something past 00:00 this record is interrupted.

Usually it happens when I'm not looking but I saw it this time, it had a green screen of death before rebooting, but I was not fast enough to read what the message said.
When I go into crons manager my box also green screens and reboots. I don't actually know what Crons Manager is, or what a Cron is, so I wouldn't know what to look for when in here if it does work anyway, if somebody can explain that would be nice.

I have re-imaged it with 2 different versions of nemesis, they all seem to do the same thing (rebooting at 00:00).
I would use a different image (other than nemesis) but this is the only image which properly works with autotimer to search in programme descriptions to record based on keywords, no other image has this function properly working, they only seem to work with programme title. (i think it works only on nemesis due to the full integration of crossepg).

Is there some log file somewhere on the box I can look for to give you guys which might help figure this problem out?

At least epg works ! with cron manager you can automate a command like power down or reboot at a certain time , it could be that a command is in crons manager telling your box to reboot at 00:00 , if you cant access it well then i think the image might be faulty , try a different image like pli ( makin sure you use correct b/l and sim ) and with a 7 day epg you could just add timer on any prog. you want . If different image works ( like pli ) and you get no reboot then down load the nemesis image from a different source and see if that helps !? ......

if its green screening before rebooting then a look in the crashlogs will prob point you to the culprit, crashlogs should be on hdd

ok, in here ftp://dreamboxIP/media/hdd/ there was a log file created last night at 00:00 (so I guess this is the one) but not sure if it keeps adding new logs to the same file or not.. anyway here it is attached if anybody can understand/read log files to tell me what the error means which could be causing this, that would be most appreciated,

and I don't really care which image I use, as long as autotimer and crossepg work properly on them, but nemesis is the only one ive found where it works properly (description search in autotimer, not just titles), if you know another image which supports this properly I would gladly use it

UnboundLocalError........this is the first file path on the crash log ,I'm not a "techie" but it might be the autotimer you mentioned , is it a plugin ? if so uninstall it see if the box stays on or can you update it if it is a plugin ?

yes it's a plugin, I download the latest version each time it's imaged directly from the addons server on blue panel, it allows you to do things like series link and such (record any shows containing words or titles specified) i'm surprized not everybody uses this plugin.. I doubt this is the cause as I've been using this addon for a while on other images (icvs for example) and never had rebooty issues like this, i was hoping in the error log it would say what is causing it to crash..

its not the autotimer plugin as you suggested, I just tried installing that on my nemesis box and it does not create a folder called iSettingE2 in extensions folder, had a little google and found a possible solution here TSimage-1.0.0-Sunray sr4-OE 1.6-sim2-SSL-84b-e3- by sat4fun - Page 2 , let us know if you do the edit and it fixes it , cheers
