Trying To Get An EPG Onto My 800HD SE CLONE.

HI, i have a dm800hdse clone , i have got the gp3 e2 image and tspanel6.9, im trying to get coolguide but cant figure out how to install it... can anybody help please.

coolguide wont do anything without a configured epg downloader mate, it just displays the epg in a friendlier prettier display, 1st thing is get crossepg to work, it may already be in the image.....menu ...setup....crossepg......configure, you need to point it to a mounted usb stick or hdd and tick which packages you want to load, plenty of threads here on DK about it, afterwards grab cooltvguide from tspanel then from plugins menu setup cooltv and select how you want it to start (personally I just use red button to launch it)

i get to crossEPG Setup, but on the menu where it says storage device it has internal flash(unsuggested) selected, cant change it, i have a flash pen in usb port. but the stb isnt seeing it??? i cannot change from internal flash(unsuggested).

Probably does not like your USB pen drive solution is to try another it is not uncommon for most E2 receivers to take a dislike to certain brands of USB flash drives

bought another pen drive, this time the 800hdse clne see's it, but after initalizing storage device, i get the message - unable to initalize storage device. Error: Create movie folder failed. any ideas.

Format the pen drive on your PC to standard Fat32, then reinsert it into the DM and try to initialize it then. GP3 image can be quite picky when mounting a USB drive.

If that fails try the device tool in the TS Panel, if that also fails you can edit the fstab file as it may be a mount issue. Try the other options first, if they do not work come back and we will tell you how to edit fstab.

Or alternately try Nemesis as it is quite a good solid image, unless you like GP3?

formatted to fat32, still same message ..... tried via tspanel/device manager gives the option to mounts or initialize / one partition/format as ext3 ntfs fat32 but it wont scroll to ntfs or fat32, just stays highlighted on ext3? as for image, a solid stable image would be great, dont mind starting over if nemisis is a more solid image.

I have used every image available so far for the DM800SE and SR4, to which I find Nemesis to be the best. But like all things it's a matter of personal choice, however Nemesis handle USB drives quite well.

ok so all was good last night, installed coolguide ect, gets up this morning, turns box on to watch match of the day(repeat) and coolguide listing is all but gone, hardly any channel info there now, has something been wiped after i powered down box last night at lights out!??

Panic Over!! Retrieved The full epg listing by going into CrossEPG Downloader via plugins and reinstalling. Is there a way that makes the epg stick, so i dont have tp reload it everytime i reboot the box?

In the cross epg configure section is an option to "reload on boot " or words to that effect, should then display the downloaded epg info that the unit had last time it was running , don't confuse cool TV with cross epg, cool only displays the info that cross has downloaded, it's just a prettier method of displaying the info , without cross or a similar configured epg downloader it can't display anything

Btw, you need to select it to auto download in the schedule section ( I tell it daily at 16-05) , in configure on cross epg, with the reload on boot option ticked your epg will on longer need any manual inputs
