DM800SE - Chinese Characters in TV Show Names

On my DM800SE clone Chinese characters seem to be replacing the first character of every TV show which is a bit weird.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a way to fix it?

Make sure in menu/language is set to english

Just checked and the language is set to English already unfortunately.

Well it is a Chinese Clone what do you expect , On a serious note it could be an image problem have you tried to flash another or even the same image again in case it is some sort of corruption

Not tried reflashing yet, I'm trying to avoid it ideally as the box has a wireless card and I've heard of other people having problems getting it working on other images.

I had exactly the same problem and was forced to take the plunge and flash new image. I am using PLi2 which supports the integrated wifi and is working fine.
