dm800 cant find ip address

hi all im used to my dm500 but im playing with a friends dm800. i'm trying to get the ip address now on mine its 192.168.0.2 but on his no such luck even though both boxes are sitting side by side. so how do I get the ip address off his boxes info as in what buttons on the remote do I press to get this info. his box is using dream elite 1.33d v3 blackhole sim 2.01 if this helps at all

Its located in the Main Menu under the Network Tab all IP info should be in there

Sorry to sound silly but what buttons on the remote do I press to get to it as I had a bit play but when I got a ip address out of it it wouldn't let me connect to the flash fxp I use on my dm500

turn off with the switch at the back or pull the power hold in the on/off btn on the front power back up when it says stop on the front let the btn go your ip will be there.

Soz but a don't get u. The 500 has a switch on the back the 800 doesn't. Do u mean it will come up on the little display on the front of the box ?????

yes pull out the power hold in the btn and power back up till it says stop then let the btn go

Hi thanks chic it worked but when I try to connect to flash fxp it still won't show the drop down box on the right hand side to get into the etc file & so on. When I connect on my dm500 it goes straight away. Any ideas any1 ??????

Press f4 on keyboard it will bring up a box.
If that dont work hit tab that says sites and select site manager.
Add new site and name as Dreambox 500/800etc
Now put in the ip address of the dreambox.
In username =dreambox
password=root
Hit connect,if its correct it will open up loads of folders.
Think if its a dm500 open ETC
DREAMBOX 800=Scroll down till you see a folder called VAR,open it then scroll to ETC.
Open this folder and scroll down till you see a file called CCcam.cfg.
Right click on file and press edit,remove all writing by using cut and paste,
Now copy and paste your ***** in blank Cccam.cfg file and shut the box by pressing the x.
It will upload the ***** to your box,job done. Andy.

Hi andy its saying connected to dreambox on the bottom for a bit then its saying in red connection failed then in black delaying for 120 seconds. But as soon as I go to reconnect it connects straight away. But still no drop of files just a blank box

You 100% certain your connected? Make sure you change the ip address to match your dreambox. Andy.

well as soon as i click reconnect it it says it is but above the box saying in green red & black. it says not connected & underneath dreambox800

Go into Menu/setup/System/Network and look at Network Adapter settings. Put that in the Flashfxp settings,Andy.

Look at post 8 that's a simple guide to follow just change the ip address to the one that matches your box.

i did & it still connects but no drop down var or etc. its as if they aren't there
