DM800 HD, major image issues, can anyone help?

    Hi

My DM800HD PVR Sim 2.10 has run well with no issues for a long time. Hence my surprise at it going belly up. The other day i was watching it no problems, left the room, came back & it was stuck in boot up mode (Wouldn't actually re boot), No big deal, i'll re flash the box.

Ive tried re flashing with a null modem cable, & a usb to null modem (using patched Dream UP) - i get this error message when i try either, Flashing failed (!!! 010 Invalid Image (Or Old Version), box will be unusable now.

When i've tried to re flash using broswer, it all seems to go well, but sticks at 98.44% every time.

I'm totally at a loss on this one, is the box goosed?

    Anything anyone can suggest

Frustrared big time with this :-(

Could try a different browser like Firefox and download a fresh image. Andy.

Could be an assortment of problems such as nandflash corrupt, Overheating with the constant reflash etc... have you tried leaving it a few hours for it to fully cool down and then try a completely different image all together

In response to the kind replies so far...

I've left the box overnight, so i'm sure it's not down to over heating. (What is nandflash corrupt?, can this be fixed?)

I've updated the bootloader as suggested.

I'll try the image suggested & let you know how i fair!

The nandflash is the chip that holds the firmware similar to a SSD drive it is not meant to be written to 1,000's of times it is there to hold the image and any plugins required, if say you had picons on there or even EPG then the nandflash is being accessed on a regular basis, to be honest though it should last years

I've tried all suggestions on here (& more), no success.

As a last throw of the dice, i'm trying opti flasher... It go's through, phase 1 ok, up to 100%, then on phase 2 just hangs..

So i can't flash via any means :-(

I know this isn't normal, but does anybody know of anywhere in the Glasgow area that would be able to repair it for me?

Did you try different versions of dream up or a patched version ?

Hmmm, starts to become an uneconomic repair really... Would a new motherboard solve the issue of flash memory problem?

Yes it would as your basically starting off with a new receiver apart from the tuner and PSU, Although from my reckoning on conversion rates a brand new DM800se will set you back around ?130 delivered the board will come to around ?80
