cant flash dm800hd original

hi all been of the scene for a bit,anyway been given a dm800hd (original)
sim a2p
800 rev j mobo
alps tuner
ive checked against the wiki site and this is a genuine dm800
when it first turned on it will say dreammultimedia flash/vmlinux ?? then it trys to flash the box ??
then it will go onto the last channel,cannot access the menus on the box via the tv
unplug the box and put it into stop mode no ip addy is commin up just says dchp and stop
d/loaded dreamup 1.3.3.9 latest
and a original image from dmm,dreamup wont connect,using a null cable and network cable,ive looked in the router to see if i can a ip for the box but nothing

Elric I know you have done all the checks to confirm it's a genuine DMM box and the SIM also looks legit. The only real way of checking if it is authentic or not is via the DMM plugin, which I know you cannot use as you cannot boot...https://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/en/authenticity-test ..........ah I just noted you can in fact boot so please try out the DMM plugin from the menu. However either way if you cannot get to a boot screen you have a problem.

For now just bear with me and try the patched version of Dreamup, don't ask why just do it You will find it here DreamUP Patched dm800 clone - Downloads - Digital Kaos let me know what errors you get, if any.

Also just wondered have you got a USB thumb drive or internal HDD attached? Plus look at remounting the SIM but clean it's contacts with white spirits or vinegar will also do the trick. Look for burm marks on the MOBO just under the SIM mount.

prodded sim now the box says error when bootin up

removed the sim,cleaned contacts replace back in holder booted box up
and same as before

@sats ive tried the patched dreamup and nothing happened dreamup is not detectin box

What error message are you getting Elric? You need to try it with a HDMI cable attached as opposed to what you said in the SB which was a scart as the output may be set to HDMI. At least then you can look at the menu and we can work it out from there.

early clones had a white sim card like the genuine box white sim with the same id letters and numbers, but all genuine dreambox 800 models had the sim card holder sealed with a dark resin if yours is'nt sealed it could
be a clone model, and if you can get into the menu's look at the information section >about that will state what image is on the box, also have you tried a patched dreamup panel and see if that connects with both the ethernet and null modem cables connected

the error is the same as the start of the thread switch box on, comes up with dream multimedia #82,then flash/bootloader,then flash/vmlinux,then after a few mins starts booting,then when thats finished it will goto sly news hd
as for dvi to hdmi cable il try get one from argos termoz,if it works/dont work at least i can take it back and get me money back

@ benny the sim looked it had been held in at one point ...maybe a knackerd sim ????
as for either being a clone or genuine,ive compared it to here Differences from DM800 HD PVR to Cloneboxes ? Gemini-Wiki and mine ties up as being a genuine

as you say there is signs of resin on the sim holder
it probably is genuine, but dont fall for the different screws etc: the only test to check if it's genuine is go to this link https://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/en/authenticity-test and type in the mac address either from the box or the receiver
and it will tell you if it's genuine. also if your in the north west of the uk pm me and i will try and sort the box out for you.
