Storage device "help"

Hi can anyone advise me, I have a dm800se with hdd installed, running newnigma2 image.
I'm going into cross epg I configure my storage device from internal flash (unsuggested) to hard disk, but when I leave in standby over night next day, storage device changes back from hard disk to internal flash, needs reboot to change back, on changes over in standby mode, over night.
Any help or suggestions pls to keep it on hard disk and to stop jumping over to internal.

it says hard drive standby after 2 mins change this to no standby might work

its a problem with hard drives being in standby, i find it better to either not use automatic update or use a usb stick and load epg to that. thats the option ive gone for (usb)

Sorted m8 found it give it a try & see tomoro if changed back or not
get hold of USB if it don't work

No it never worked it flipped back to internal flash, I set storage on to USB now like nush advised, see how that goes,
if I turn of automatic updates, won't that stop cool TV guide from working altogether well updating & be of no use.
I remember on my last box using internal flash after few months green screened, guide stopped wrking
Hopefully USB will do the trick.

narrr usb i tried and it also flipped back to internal flash, if i turned of the auto update what would happen then ?
been advised to turn it off to stop it using internal memory, but isnt an update needed for the guide ?

if i were you i'd reflash it mate back up your config files try blackhole image or one of your choice

which auto update you talking bout rob, the one that downloads the epg is in the cross epg menu called "schedule at" or summit like that

Yes that 1 the cool tv guide it's working fine the guide is there, the problem I'm aving is

My last box ended up using internal memory few mths later guide stopped wrking green screened.
So I'm just trying to avoid it happening on this box & image it's a decent image
Just trying all diff ways to stop it flipping back to internal wen in standby, eventually it will green screen so then I will reflash.

remember reading a thread somewhere were image had a bug in that did exactly as you describe, my advice would be to reflash a different image, 2 of the most solid reliable don't-cock-up images I have found for the 800se-sim2 are nemesis and pli

you gotta try avoid that internal flash shit mate, its like having a prog using all your memory in windoze, it will run shit and will eventually give up struggling. pli is good for hdd , recognizes it aN no user input required , fresh daily build available at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9860949/dm800se/dm800se.html (FOR DM800SE WITH SIM2 ONLY)

If I flash with openpli can I get cool tv guide from the Ts panel, does it have avTs panel ?
Box Crashed on me this morning agen, I've got a backup file to reflash,
friend set thus up for me so wen i flash with back up image theres not much i need to do besides make sure hdd is set in storage & not intrrnal wich is every nightI just want it set up & dnt av to worry about
Crashing & using internal,
I can flash no prob but it's sorting guide out that I can't get around.
