    DM800 + OpenPli problem

Hey guys I've just bought a USB wifi dongle off eBay and trying to connect the dreambox to the internet, the dongle is seen by the box and the correct driver is installed rt3070 but when going to scan for networks it just says "No networks found! Searching..." I've enabled the interface and filled in the network settings to no avail. Just wondering if I am missing something? Tried the dongle on the PC beforehand and works straight away.

    Cheers, Dan.

The router is probably your problem. What router are you using? Andy.

you will have to access your router page normally 192.168.1.1 put you password in log in, there will be a page that tels you whats connected, check to see that the router sees it, has your router wireless been set up for wireless it may be switched off.
i woud imagin that you would need to go into somewhere on your dm and set up the sid and password

As Both Andy and Blueflash have stated everything points to the router as it is not assigning the adaptor an IP address, As Stated enter the router config and first thing to try is switch the wireless off/on and try without any encryption to see if it assigns the DM an IP address and work up from that

Thanks for the replies guys, I have a Dlink DIR-615 wireless N router with DD-WRT flashed onto it. Tried with security disabled, WEP only etc and still no joy. Guessing it just doesn't like the dreambox. Tried a few different images also including DBUK 2.1.2.

              Cheers.

Can you try the USB dongle in another device and see if it connects then just to rule out the possibility of a faulty adaptor

Tried it on my PC mate and it works spot on. - I thought it might have been a driver issue so i removed rt3070 drivers and used rt2870 from TS Panel - With both drivers it's the same, it knows the adapter is there and is installed but refuses to scan or manually connect to my network.
