seagate pipeline hd2 hard drive on dm800hd clone

i have a dm800hd clone box running openpli 2.1 image. i have a seagate pipeline hd2 500gb hard drive out of a sky box connected internally as i have taken the top of the box off but the dm800hd doesn't recognize the drive, the box doesn't even power the drive up as i can't feel any movement when i touch the drive. i have quick formatted the drive on a win7 pc but read somewhere it needs a full format to be recognized so i gave it a full format but it still won't work. has anyone got one of these drives working internally on their dm800hd clone

I now after reading your post realised you took the lid off and have the hard drive externally as i would imagine that adapting a 3.5" drive to fit in a 2.5" space is well impossible.

As for your question the 800Hd should initialise the drive via the onboard menu but seeing as you cannot get it recognised it could be your PSU is not up to the job of powering the hard drive in the first place

It may be cheaper getting another power supply check Ebay average price is ?6-?30
