tunning dm800se clone sim 2.10 boot84a

hi,im a complete newbie to sat dreambox and recently bought a dm800se frrom china,so i hooked it up to tv,modem,and dish and turned it on hoping that i could go trough the wizzard and set it up,but i already hit trouble as when i turn it on it does a search aautomaticly and then it gives me a error saying it cant find anything,i think this might be due to the fact its searching for asian sats and not european sats,also it is connected to a dish that had a sky hd box and there are 2 dish imput cables does it matter which you connect to,so what im really looking for is a fools guide to gettig started any help is much appreciated,thanks

wont matter which cable mate, both the same, you probably need to configure the tuner to 28east , menu>setup>servicesearching>tuner config and scroll thru the sats til you reach 28east , when you have the tuner configured you can either scan the channels, or use a premade list via dreamboxedit, or install the plugin "auto bouquet" http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...9/index16.html

thanks for your reply southpaw ,i tried yor first suggestion but could not find astra 28.2,all i couuld get was loads of asian sats,as for your second option im afraid i havent a clue how to do that,i tried hooking up to a pc using mini usb and rj45 cable from modem to dreambox,but i could not find the dreambox on the pc,so put in the DB ip number in the browser and it was there but it was only allowing me to flash the box which i know how to do but not sure i want to,i have seen on here somthing about a null cable to connect to pc,do i need this,thx

no need to attach it physically to pc mate, provided the pc is on your home network along with the box you can ftp the autobouquet (must end in dot.ipk) file to the "temp" directory and install it with dreambox remote, if your not sure how to do that, then may be easier to flash a new image , this pli image is good, I use it myself on a sim2 800se http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9860949/dm800se/dm800se.html after that you should have the European sats in the tuner config menu,

hi southpaw thanks again for reply,im afraid im competely clueless about this tech i honestly dont understand much of it no matter how many treads i read ,i just get more confused,so i might try and flash the box but i see the the image you sent me is 84b where my box is 84 a does it make any difference,also ii tried downloading other images on this site for ssl84a and the all seem to down load via ilivid download especially all ramimaher images when you click on http://www.multiupload.com/BEUIJRJ8AI it dirrects you yo ilivid down loads,i can download them but i cannot open them to get the nfi file i need is there a other way of downloading these images,thanks for your help.

latest images for sim2 are 84b now, and the linked image I posted will upgrade your bootloader to 84b when you flash/load the image, then all 84b dm800se images will be compatable with your box , that ilivid sh1te is a nightmare but if you go to dreamoem website that is the home of sim2 team , they have a section for all sim2 dm800se images with links in to download, would advise you to stick with that pli link I posted tho mate, its one of the best images for your unit

Finally i have got it ,i flashed it with the image you recommended and hooked it back up to tv and found astra 28.2 ,done a scan and recieved loads of channels,now i have to try and sort them out,thanks for all your help and tips southpaw very much appreciated.

Well done mate, will post some info later today for you to organise channels using auto bouquet
Btw, you say you hooked it back up to TV, you didn't need to un hook it, all configuring can be Done with the box in situ

Just checked my box for info to download auto bouquet but its been removed from the download server for some reason , are you familiar with using ftp on pc trev ?

hi southpaw ,no im not familiar with ftp ,altough i have made alot of progress the last couple of days with the box i have finally got the wifi working so i can download without moving the box,but i have unfortunately run into more trouble this time with DCC and flashfpx for some reason my box wont connect with these programmes,i have all hooked up correctly pc,router and box but it wont connect with the box so i cannot transfer files,the error im getting is error 10057 in function send socket is not connected,this has somthing to do with the box ip address being incorrect ,altough im entering the correct ip address but it will not work,i have tried an older version of DCC and no luck ,i read in another post that maybe my password may have changed when i flashed the box with a new image ,have you any knowledge of this problem,cheers southpaw.

ignore last post,after a couple of hours hiting my head against the wall i solved the problem,on the DCC programme their is a action that lets you search for devices so i tried it and thankfully it picked up my box but with a different ip address than the one that i was entering ,and it worked so i was able to access the files and whatever else is on the dreambox.

if you still want organized channels , there is an option in dcc to upload package (tools > packages > upload package) download the autobouquest ipk file first, then install it via above method
