Either that or an older firmware. Chances are the firmware loaded could be affected, so don't start with that firmware, certainly not with a dish or Ethernet connected where the box can get the time/date.

because of the original vu company made a security so right now the firmware not support the 2.09 version

you can reflash back to 2.08 model
so please check then

so it looks like the ferrari images are the best way to stop your box being zapped

i got my mini vu+duo the other day it came with openpli installed which was ok but i prefer blackhole so i downloaded and installed blackhole 2.0.9 from the ferrari team it went without a hitch i do not trust the original images because i think they are now putting clone killer software in there images and that could be why the mini vu+duo boxes are getting the red light problem i have used the ferrari images on my original cloud ibox without a problem so i hope it still does the same for these vu boxes also i have a 320gb hard drive fitted which works perfectly

you can try flashing a older vu duo image, but there is 3 reasons for red led, 1 could be fault hardware which no way to recover it, 2 other is if flashed new image with new drivers killing box and no recovery either . 3 just wrong image flashed which can recover

to find out if box been killed by flashing newer drivers, get a usb stick with led on it, if it doesn't flash or stays on when powering on, means new drivers been used , usually if faulty it will still read the usb and go through the flashing process

i had 2 of these go red led, not image problem but hardware, when this box is on standby it gets very hot, try feeling underneath, after its been on standby for 30 - 1hr , and i think the solder is losing contact, someone else pointed they got it working again by using a heatgun on it, maybe that reflowed the solder on board somewhere

i got replaced now i use USB cooling pad and its cool on standby will see long term now

The only way to get your box working at the moment is to replace IC chip, with a clone safe image.

i have just setup 3 of these boxes with ferrari blackhole 2.0.9 image fitted 320gb hdd and they are running without a problem the red light broblem could be flashing original images with clone killer software in them so i would stick with the ferrari images at the moment

Blackhole 2.0.7 is ok as long as you dont do any updates.

DM 8000 works for me....2 x DVBS2 & 2 x DVB-C tuners

Are these Ferrari images ok to use on any duo mini ? and what version theres 2,2a,3,3a does the version matter , my brothers still running the old vix 3.0.808 image and feeds no longer work on it , but I dont want to flash a new image in case I brick it for him
