best way to stream from dm800 se

hi peeps whats best way to stream from dm800se running openpli? i am currently typing my ip into web browser and streaming that way but 9 times out of ten it dont work ?

Install VLC on your laptop, type in the ip address of your box into your browser then click on the tv icon on the right hand side of the channel you want to stream.and associate it with vlc

thats what i have done bud but both vlc and windows media player seam to play up infact i dont evenb think i have had vlc working once yet ?

i keep gettin g windows media player encountered a problem while playing the file and with vlc i get nothing?

you need to associate the file that your receiver puts out onto your laptop to coincide with VLC

right click properties open with vlc? i have done that but it dont do anything mate?

just a thought mate, disable your Anti virus in case it's blocking it.

is there no other way of doing this? i have tried all of the above and also knocked off my firewall but i still cant get it working?

What version of vlc did you use ?? i use 2.0.7 some other versions seem to be a bit temperamental mate.

cheers maca i just grabbed 2.07 and still no chuffin joy it is well doing my head in now been at it weeks! am i doing something wrong as i cant get any streams to work anymore in vlc or wmp this is my procedure

enter box ip into web browser im using chrome but also tried explorer then go to bouquets find a channel click the little tv icon on the right it then downloads a little stream thing i open that with vlc and also wmp but i get nothing?? any help would be really appreciated

I'm watching/streaming the man u v sunderland game from a dm 800 , I have VLC media player 2.1.2 , when I typed in the ip address ( using chrome ) I then get " Open Webif " I then select which bouqet I want and then I click on the tv symbol on the channel I want , when I do a vlc file pops up on the bottom left of the chrome window I then click on that file and vlc opens up streaming the selected channel . I found that hd channels don't stream too good so i tend to use sd , and I can't have 1 channel on the dm800 while streaming another , hope some of this might be useful to you ! is your lappy or pc hard wired to router mate ??

Hi mate, try Dreamstream E2, google it, works perfect for me on my dm800se.
Always had trouble VLC Player.

gaelicred that is what i was after streaming last night and couldnt do it so bloody missed all the penalties !!!! and i do the exact same procedure as you pal,

maca its a lappy and it is wireless mate would that make a difference?

Open Webif plugin on your box set up correct
