Can I delete movies and programmes via FTP?

This might sound like a daft question, but a google didn't give me the answer and I didn't want to do this and then suddenly find I'd messed something up that I couldn't resolve without a reformat.

My hard drive's nearly full and it would be so much easier to delete programmes via FTP than faff about in menus or even in Webcontrol which doesn't always delete things when I press the bin symbol, and takes ages to take effect anyway.

    Thanks.

Mine spends forever just thinking about it, though, and I've got a shedload of recordings I need to delete. It'll just keep locking up if I do a lot one at a time (I need to get round to trying a new image - I'm using DreamElite) and so I need a quick way of sorting it out.

Takes seconds on mine mate, use firefox as your ftp program, or look at "map network drive to windows " then it will show up in "my computer", Google will tell you how

I do it in Firefox also. It'd be quicker to use a separate FTP programme, though. Can someone please tell me if it's okay to use that?
