Best image for DM800HD SE with XBMC

    Hi All,

I am running with a nemesis image currently, and I am not sure if that is the reason, but I cannot use XBMC. It is crashing a lot and I never get it to work.
I am not currently using SAT and use the DB for playing film from the HD. I would like to get XBMC working so that I can use NAVI-X and other xbmc addons.
What image is stable and works with the XBMC addon?

    Thanks.

    Rick

Personally, I don't think you'll ever get xbmc running sweet on e 2 , it's still in development stage but the biggest stumbling block is the 400mhz mips processor, the original Xbox has almost twice as much processing power and even that can't do some 720p , buy yourself a dedicated machine, and use the stb as a stb, a small net top or even a raspberry pi will produce much better results ,

Thanks southpaw. I can see it is a challenge. I did get the xbmcaddons plugin to install and it shows some addons that I uploaded to the correct folder. I will continue to play around with it to get it to work.
However, TSmedia actually has all the things I need. So I am happy to use that.

By the way, I already have three dedicated ATV v2 jailbroke with XBMC running fine. I just wanted to get the same function out of my DM800SE.
I cannot recommend the Raspberry Pi for XBMC. It was too slow for the XBMC interface, so I sold that.

      Regards,
      Rick

I've also heard that the Raspberry PI is hopeless for XBMC and that's spec-ed at 965 MIPS@772MHz

I'm not sure I understand this, isn't the issue the video processing rather than the core processing. HD dreambox's have dedicated hardware video processing, hence they handle 2D and 3D HD video streams passed from the tuner effortlessly.

PS: No offence but I've had to switch off "display advatar" on this site due to yours making this site look like a **** site!

            Hi Guys,

            Just an update.
I managed to get things running as I hoped for. I did not get XBMC running yet, but I used an Openpli 4.0 image with TSpanel and TSmedia already installed. It just worked.
            I used [email protected].
I did not have a NO CA ERROR after the flashing either. Still trying to understand all the parts to the image name that tells me it is good for my box.
I will continue to try to get XBMC workin, but this thread can be closed.
            Thanks for the help.

            Regards,
            Rick
