DM 800 Hd dvi only?

HI just received two dm800 box's.

Looking on back I only see a dvi output!

Lookkng on net these box's come with a dvi to hdmi cable do these output sound some how?

Or do I use sound from optical out?

Only asking because both box's come with no power supply or remotes!

the dvi to hdmi cable povides both sound and picture on the dm800.
As for power supply and remotes, they are easy to get hold of online.
Just be wary about what tuners are in them, rev m and g are fine. rev j,k,l are not so great and cause glitching on hd.

Oh cool I've always been lead to believe that dvi doesn't output sound is it a special sort of one I need?

Looking on net I type dvi to hdmi but search always comes back as hdmi to dvi any pointers on that would be great?

I have got one box booting now can only get static through scart at mo I presume it set to scart but all I get is like white iines going across screen as if not quite tuned like on old anoluoge tv's?

Not sure what os messages you get on dreambox was hoping to see no signal or scrambled or something? With satellite cable un plugged I get tune failed but with it plugged in it shows sky one but nothing on screen?
Can't change channel yet as no remote is there a way changing channel through pc connected to it?

Would in correct power adapter course the funny screen?

Low on funds at mo so don't want to spend money if these box's are no good hope you understand what I mean.

Type the i p address in web browser address bar and you can then configure over your PC, this will get you up an running til you can pick up your bits for them
