not getting all channels

hi peeps i sold my dm800hd to my mate and on the 1st night he had all channels 2nd night he had none i then refitted connection at back and did another scan now he only gets 490 channels im setting it to 28.2 and 13.0 what could i do to improve signal to recieve more channels anybody any ideas?

Try one of the already pre-configured Channel lists say from Catseye

thats only sorting the bouquets though aint it? at the moment even when i go to all channels i dont even have sky sports 1 and 2 or bt sports etc as it is only picking up half the channels when i do a service search?

maybe dish is out slightly,scanning elsewhere you could check or post what signal and agc you get.

how do i check that on openpli image mate i think it 2.1 on a dm800hd i will post results etc?

sometimes pressing ok button reveals things but unsure with yours.

double pressing ok on pli image will/should give 2nd info bar with signal level on, as digi pointed out above, use a premade settings or autobouquet ,

thats only sorting the bouquets though aint it?

not sure were you get this mate but using these 2 methods i mention will mean you dont need to scan as all settings are loaded automagically, i aint done a scan in years

I just thought that since i had all bouquets set up in my home and had all channels working then took it to mates house and they was working for 1st night then only half the channels, i thought it would have somthing to do with signal? I will try another scan with auto bouquets as i have that set up then will try the other method using dreamboxedit and sgt flipflops bouquets

mate, if he is new to enigma boxes he could have caused the issue himself by "playing" , as you rightly say once you set up the channels the settings should stick , but you just dont know what he`s touched , if he hasnt messed maybe his dish may have moved slightly with the recent winds

he says he hasnt messed but im now thinking he has as its funny how it worked 1st night then 2nd night only half the channels but as you say it has been windy and it could have moved the dish slightly and if this is the case is it easy to allign? you can re allign with android phone right?

yeh , or just use the signal bar on the box itself , one outside tweaking and one inside shouting (if its a ladder jobby, grab the indoors side 1st )
