    New DM800se clone AP8 or 2.10 sim?

I am currently looking to buy a 2nd DM 800se, I currently have a sim 2.10 running well on openpli 4.0. Question is should I buy the AP8 sim model as it can run original software? The thing that worries me is if DMM implement new software to knock out the AP8 sim will I be left with a brick? Is it better to stick to a 2.10 sim as modded images are easily available? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Vinny

Think the worse that could happen with A8P sim is dmm bring out something to block it, but then you would still be able to use images that worked prior to dmm bringing it out,
    Hope that makes sense

Thats fair enough, I suppose once I find an image thats works well I won't need to change. Can I download original images on here or is there a dedicated place? I'm only familiar with modded images.

Also would a wi-fi model work with all images?

      Thanks

Bought an a8p myself, after many 2.10 sims.
Went over to the openpli official site, and downloaded the latest image on their nightly builds.
Flashed as normal, and bobs your uncle

Cheers trance, after looking at the openpli site I can see the nightly builds. I'll go for a AP8 box.

          Thanks again

If your a Fan of the OpenPLI images then you will also have read that OpenPLi will no longer support original DM receivers so 4.0 will probably be the last image for DM

I am thinking that as openpli have abandoned support would other teams do the same?

I suppose I could run the current openpli image and that would be fine for a few years.

All I need on the box is ts media and a 7 day epg.

I'm going to think about it for another day before deciding.

                Thanks
