play .mkv on DM800HD ?

I'd like to play my movie stored in PC on TV -using Dreambox - so far I spend 2 days to get it work with no luck.
I tried transfer them on USB flash and let dreambox play them.
I have DM800HD and what I found this box doesn't have strong cpu (only300Mhz) to play .Mkv (It can play only MPEG-2)

Does DM800HD "SE" with better CPU (400Mhz) play .mkv? -With no issue?

And can you point me where I get working tutorial how t osetup vlc in order to stream from pc to dreambox .

My 800se plays mkv files fine, but beware mkv is not a format as such, only a container, so it won't play all types of mkv files, some 10gb files struggle and become choppy,
No need for vlc, just use "network browser" to point to the network share and the se will do the rest

Same here with 800 hd
Had better results ftping the files to my hard drive and playing from there for smoother results with mkv and meg 4...... Paul
