No s-- channels but free to air

Hi guys, wondered if any one could shed some light on a dm800hd with no s-- channels
This box is my brother in laws "mines fine " his won't work even plugged into my setupam getting free to air but not the obvious channels
the screen
my c lines active and internet 100% working, the screen shows the menu and the selected
channel but no sound or picture ,I've got 90-100% signal strength
I've restarted the ccam
just can't think what might be wrong ??
