    DM800SE Triple tuner setup

    Hi, people......
    Just installed a triple tuner into a dm800se. The sat side of things is working sweet, I dont have cable, so cant test that at the moment. However , how on earth do I setup the DVB/T side of things.I've read up online but they are all regarding DVB/C.
    Has anyone got the triple tuner working on all s/c/t. And how did you do it please.
    Thanks

    Hi mate
    I have a couple of sr4's, terrestrial doesn't work in the UK and obviously you need a cable feed to set the tuner up.
    There are two ways you can configure the tuner, you can either install the trial tuner driver and use oe1.6 images or
    you can use oe2 images but you will need to edit your cables.xml/satellitesxml and merge them together.
    You will also need to scan and create your own channel lists with merged xml files as the lamedb file is different.
    TBH they are a pain in the butt, but on the plus side if time is on your side your new acquisition will take plenty of it!
    There is plenty of info available and I will be able to help but you need the cable feed before you go any further.

      Thanks for the info, I basically got the triple tuner as virmin will be rolling out my area soon .
      I thought in the mean time I would play around with the Dvb/t to see how it goes.
      But I had no idea it was a no go in the UK.
      003 , once I get the feed I will take up your offer of help....in the words of arnie "I'll be back" give or take a couple of months.
      Thanks

        003, true to my word, I'm back...
        Right I should have access to a live feed in the next few days or so...
        I'm currently running the latest openpli as my dm800se has an a8p sim.
        So if anyone can kindly advise me as to what I need to get the triple tuner working on cable, would be much appreciated.
        ( I don't mean lions softcams etc..as im clued up on that side of things as I'm not new to enigma2)
        Ive read, I may need lamedb cables.xml net id. Is it even possible with the latest openpli, just read on another forum[ post was from 18 months ago ] that newer oe 2.0 images dont work with the trial tuner driver, quam 256 fault???
        Thanks

          hi trance, what is your area?
          If you are in the north west I will find it easier to help you. Trial tuner isn't needed with the image you are using, but the config is tricky with a
          modified satellites/cables.xml and correct tuner settings.
          I will message you!

              Sorry for the late response, I set up a duo2 last week. That was straight forward, I did not have enough time/ and know how to setup/test a trip tuner dm800se....But I've done some reading up on the subject, an hopefully I'll try it soon [ vm is not in my area at the min, so have to go around mates]

                Guys
                I will put together some files that will help you soon and I will upload here in a zip file.
                will include
                Tuner settings
                a working north west (modified sat/cable.xml) file. From this you should be able to work out how to edit your area .xml
                my working canel list. which is probably only good for north west.

                Once you have configured your sr4 you will need to perform a scan, it will scan sat and cable automatically.
                unless you are northwest, then you would use my files and be up and running in 30mins.

                    sr4 help file

                    Ok guy's here is a help file that will put you on the right track.
                    If you are in the north west you are in luck! as everything you need is in the file, unfortunately if you
                    are in a different area you will have to do some reading, but that's what it's all about.

                        trance if your mate has a working cables.xml file working for your area, you need to take a copy and have a go at the edit.
                        I use conText to edit all my files, google it, it is a free download.

                          Hi, guys .....well well well, Ive been reading up on the matter in hand, and after a fair few edits etc . I cant get my sat.xml to be recognised/scanned.
                          Everytime I try your one [003] that is recognised and scanned witout issue[ obviously wrong area to work for me] but when I try mine, either I cant get it to show in the tuner configuration....or when it does show up there, it stops scanning after the satellite is scanned/ cable wont scan...
                          Where am I going so wrong?

                          here is a little snippet of my edit ;
                          </sat>
                          <sat name="Simmys Cable" flags="1" position="1">
                          <transponder frequency="05067500" symbol_rate="06952000" polarization="0" inversion="0" modulation="0" fec_inner="5"/>
                          <transponder frequency="05070000" symbol_rate="06952000" polarization="0" inversion="0" modulation="0" fec_inner="5"/>
                          <transponder frequency="05147500" symbol_rate="06952000" polarization="0" inversion="0" modulation="0" fec_inner="5"/>

                          and towards the end it looks like the following;
                          <transponder modulation="0" fec_inner="5" symbol_rate="06952000" inversion="0" frequency="01150000"/>
                          <transponder modulation="0" fec_inner="5" symbol_rate="06952000" inversion="0" frequency="01230000"/>
                          <transponder modulation="0" fec_inner="5" symbol_rate="06952000" inversion="0" frequency="01307500"/>
                          <transponder modulation="0" fec_inner="5" symbol_rate="06952000" inversion="0" frequency="01310000"/>

                          I have tried to follow your advice, and I look forward to some more, I'm not giving up just yet, oh no

                          Thanks

                            ooops, I guess I made a school boy error..... I forgot to add 01 at the beginning.
                            So now my sat.xml looks something like the following;
                            <transponder frequency="01506750" symbol_rate="06952000" polarization="0" inversion="0" modulation="0" fec_inner="5"/>
                            <transponder frequency="01507000" symbol_rate="06952000" polarization="0" inversion="0" modulation="0" fec_inner="5"/>
                            <transponder frequency="01514750" symbol_rate="06952000" polarization="0" inversion="0" modulation="0" fec_inner="5"/>
                            <transponder frequency="01115000" symbol_rate="06952000" polarization="0" inversion="0" modulation="0" fec_inner="5"/>
                            <transponder frequency="01123000" symbol_rate="06952000" polarization="0" inversion="0" modulation="0" fec_inner="5"/>
                            <transponder frequency="01130750" symbol_rate="06952000" polarization="0" inversion="0" modulation="0" fec_inner="5"/>

                            I just finished a scan and got 590 channels, but that is just the start,,, I cant get anything to clear except 1,2,3,4,5 . That would suggest the obvious and say my lions are not roaring. However, they roaring away on a duo 2 . So what is going on ? any help is much appreciated.
                            Just to add everything is 100%SNR/ 34-35 db signal wise is that odd?
                            Thank You
