DM800 clone

Hi I had an old ferrari sim dm800 which the sim card died so i replaced sim with a 2.10 and flashed the box with a 2.10 image the box boots fine and all menus are there it just wont play recordings from old hard drive or scan any channels the dish is fine on another box if i undo the lnb feed to the box it scans but finds nothing if i recconect it the scan just hangs just wondered if it was possible to change sims

It is possible to change Sims and most times goes without a hiccup, have you checked the Sim Holder for any problems and possibly even remove the Sim 2.10 and give it a clean in some solution

Hi tried cleaning but still wont scan any channels satfinder shows good signal recordings show but wont play it was an early sim1 ferrari box did read somewhere that there can be problems with these i might try to get hold of a ferrari card and see if the issue goes awaydonr really use the box just a spare but interesting trying to solve the issue

Might also be worth trying to upload a pre-made channel list just to see if it actually works

if i remember correctly to my dreambox days, to change sim cards
say from ferrari to a sim card, the advice was to leave the ferrari sim
in the box and flash a sim image on the box, BUT DO NOT RE-BOOT after
the sim image was flashed, you then change the sim cards and then re-boot
and the change of sim card and image will load cleanly, if you did'nt do the change
over this way it could be worth trying and then see if the box works normally
