Zgemma H2.S OpenVIX (latest) Sky Themed Image

Hi Guys hi take no credit what so ever for as i is not my backup,

I have created an image of my H2.S with a very Sky oriented theme! If you want it download it from:



It is fully configured to Sky, including Auto Bouqet, EPG set to read from HDD plugged in to the back USB port and. It has a customised version of the brilliant skin Slyk1 skin to make it look as close to Sky as possible.

so first unrar the file and use ur fat32 formatted standard usb to put the "zgemma" folder on.
turn off box
insert flash usb in rear
boot up. Box should take 4-10 minutes to flash and MAY say FLASH on front when flashing. occasionally when flashing the front panel may remain blank, just give it 15 minutes in case. IT MAY STILL BE FLASHING.
box will reboot when finished
No need to press front power button or anything.

OK. Basically u need a usb or hard drive that can be wiped and devoted to the box.
That will store program guide and recordings and timeshift to rewind TV etc.
4gb is minimum I'd recommend. But more is better.
Once image is flashed and u edit ur ~~~~~~~.list file in usr/keys or ~~~~~.cfg in /etc with DCC.
Get the permanent USB/hdd onto a PC and quick format it.

Box off.
Usb in rear.
Box on.

Initialisation
Select ur drive
Red to initialise
Exit all

Menu

Vix
Swapfile manager
Blue to create 256mb. Wait
Yellow to autostart
Green to start
Red to close.
Hold power button on remote for 3 secs and select Restart (not GUI)

If you find that the screen is to large/small/off to side :
Menu
Setup
System
User interface
Position setup
U can change about here. Including transparency of windows.
If not working change to 720p and 50hz and try again.

(If u are using a large enough usb/HDD u may want to go to
Menu
Setup
System
Timeshift settings
Autostart ts after 30secs or whatever.
As it is u must press pause to start timeshift)

Menu
Setup
Service searching
Autobouquets maker
Providers. Wait
Sky UK (sd):area. Change from northern ireland custom to your area custom by pressing right or left.
Green to save.
Start scan. Wait.
Exit all
Hold power Restart

Menu
setup
System
Epg
Cross EPG
Download now. Takes 5-10 mins. Will seem like its stuck on Loading Data. Wait.
Happens automatically at 6.20 am anyway.
Exit all
Hold power again and restart.

Edit.
Small mistake i would to to stop spinning up and down regularly i forgat To set hdd standby to 30 mins. Not important. But if using a loud drive or experience lag on drive spin up:

System
Storage devices
Hard disk setup
Change to 30 Min



auto bouqets setup
auto epg update set
cross epg setup to hdd
service scanning set to SD and HD replaced where possible



Configured (and tweaked) "Planner" view

No but there is one like this for it

H.2S and H.S are identical apart from the tuners, you can use a H.2S image on a H.S box and vice versa, just check tuner settings.

guys this is a cracking backup
but its not mine but, i will say do not online update
as its a patched vix image and may brick your box,
as most of u now vix is not supported on the zgemma boxs

Thank you for posting this, i really want to try it out but a little worried the update issue you mentioned above. So if i never update it, what issues would this come with?

Also you say vix is not supported by zgemma but you can download the vix images from zgemma.tv?

The Vix images are patched to work on the Zgemma receivers, and that is why it is not advisable to do an online software update
