    EPG Problems.

Hi, I have a Zgemma 2S running on Open ATV, the EPG is only showing what's on now/next etc... on free to air channels, all paid channels are blank, however if I highlight one of the blank paid channels on the EPG and press ok to change to that channel then go back into the EPG what is on now/next is now showing for that channel, but the other paid ones are still blank, I've tried the menu, set up, EPG, XMLTV Importer, Manual scan option but get a 'No active EPG sources found, Nothing to do' message on my to screen.
i was using the Rytec (think it's called that or similar) EPG and all was well until yesterday.

have you a usb or hdd installed to save epg to. And select sources then select the source you need as far as I can remember.

Forgive me here as I might be talking rubbish as I'm only use to using Crossepg on my Zgemma but with XML importer I'm sure you need to tick whichever rytec source you want to use, then try a download.

Correct when using the XMLTV importer you also need to install the Rytec XMLTV importer file providers usually in the same place on the Plugin download section.

You then tick Rytec UK and setup when you want to update either manually or timed

The Rytec source ain't there to tick, only Sky UK, I have been using Rytec for the last 6 months so don't know how its disappeared.

When was the last time you did a software update on the box? If you haven't done one for a while, then try that it might update the rytec sources. However, just read on another forum about other people losing there rytec sources, so you might just have to wait for a fix to be released.

Box if fully up to date, I've also had someone tell me they are having problems with Rytec so may be that, will any other EPG work with MTPockets OpenATV?

Crossepg 0.6.2 but you have to first remove xmltv importer, install via the local extension options then disable Crossepg from updating via telnet commands as Crossepg 0.8 does work with a zgemma

If up to the challenge then let me know

Sounds complicated, I'll leave it till tomorrow to see if Rytec comes back and if not then I'll give it a go.

Martin035, if you have any spare time today could you possibly do me a 'how to' guide that I can follow please.
also will CrossEPG work with my image as MTPockets is a non Vix image.

I use Openatv as I prefer original firmware as opposed to patched firmware, so I can verify that Crossepg will work.

                        1. Remove XMLTV importer and Rytec XMLTV Importer sources from your Zgemma via menu-plugins-remove
                        2. On your PC, Download Crossepg 0.6.2 and unzip the downloaded file http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...o=file&id=3410
                        3. On your PC, using Filezilla/DCCC FTP 'enigmaplugin-systemplugins-crossepg_0.6.svn-r0_mipsel.ipk' from your PC to /tmp on your Zgemma
                        4. On your Zgemma, install 'enigmaplugin-systemplugins-crossepg_0.6.svn-r0_mipsel.ipk' via Menu-setup-software Management-Install Local Extension then
                        i. /tmp
                        ii. Install Extensions
                        iii. Select ‘enigma2-plugin-systemplugin-crossepg_0.6.2-svn-300-r0_mipsel.ipk’
                        iv. Green button to Install

                        Setting up CrossEPG

                        1. Menu-setup-Crossepg-OpenTVproviders – select ‘Sky openTV’ and green to save (go back into this menu again and ensure green tick next to that selection)
                        2. Menu-setup-Crossepg-configure and ‘schedule download’ to ‘once a day’
                        3. Menu-setup-Crossepg-configure and ‘schedule download at’ a time to suit yourself, mine is 14:30 as I turn my box off at night, if you leave yours in standby then 00:30
                        4. Menu-setup-Crossepg-configure and ‘Download on tune’ to ‘Yes’
                        5. Menu-setup-Crossepg-Download Now and let the epg update
                        6. Menu-setup-EPG-settings ‘EPG Location’ scroll to ‘/media/hdd’
                        7. Menu-setup-EPG-settings ‘Automatic save’ to Yes
                        8. Menu-setup-EPG-settings ‘save every(HR)’ – 7
                        9. Menu-setup-EPG-load/save/delete – save EPG

Stop Crossepg updating do this on your PC
                        1. Click Start and select Control Panel - Programs and Features - Turn Windows features on or off.
                        2. Select the Telnet Client option and Click OK.
                        3. Open a Command Prompt (CMD) and run as Admin
                        4. Type 'telnet' then IP address of your Zgemma ie '192.168.1.8' then press enter
                        5. Type 'root' for login and press return
                        6. Type 'opkg flag hold enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg' and press return
                        7. Close CMD window and deselect Telnet client in Turn Windows features on or off

One thing I forgot to say about Crossepg is it will change your channel to download the EPG data, then return to the original channel on completion, hence why some prefer to set the update time to past midnight when the box is in standby.

Typical, after I cut & Paste a Crossepg guide a XMLTV importer fix is found, just need to search 'enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec_20151011-r0_all.ipk' then follow the instructions on how to install.
