DM800 Clone - weak signal on tuner

    Hi there

Has anyone experienced weaker signal on DM800 clone boxes, than original or normal boxes. Has just searched channels and hardly any HD channels apears in the list and if tuned into an HD channel tuner fails. I have Nabilosat Black Hole on my clone box.

Would it help to switch to Gemini 4.50? or is it a hardware fault?

    Hello,

Clone tuners are sometimes weaker and its due to certain clones being bad build quality.

Hmm if I replaced the installed tuner with a new and original one, would that help?

It may do yes, also a in-line amp may work.

I got this same problem but no so severe...

Basically most HD channels work fine apart from:

            -SkySport1 HD
            -Discovery
            -C4 HD
            -SCI-FI
            -Disney CineMagic HD

I get breakups every 5 seconds on SS1HD...and severe breakup on the others..I've tried installing an inline amp it helped slightly with SS1 but still breakup on SS1 along with everything else...ideas? Someones also get tuner failed on these channels..sucks!

Why only HD channels on 28.2e? I have no problems at all on all other satellites HD channels. But i cant view any on 28.2E? If its a tuner issue is it not suppose to affect all HD channels regardless of what satellite it is on

i saw a post somewhere on my travels, try a in line booster or try to remove the tuner and reseat it, i did see that someone solved his clone tuner problem by doing this, dont know if it wasnt seated correctly in the first place but it seemed to cure it, maybe worth a try as a desperation cure.

inline amps will not help this problem they have nothing to do with snr = signal in fact it will drop your snr and make it weaker
they work on you AGC =atomatic gain contal witch just makes a piture you already have less grainy so its for piture quailty do not waste your money on them

for 3.99? i think its worth a try, or do you suggest something else?

i have noticed that the snr is lower on the hd channels that normal sd channels that work??

How easy is it to remove tuner? Is it just pulling it out and in again? or soldering is needed?
