    Yet Another Nubie

Hello Folks, This is my 1st Post to introduce myself and also to get some guidance from you clever Folk.

I moved into an area with no Cable services and need to Invest in a Dreambox. I was pretty familiar with the Cable DBox2's at the old place but now feel the need to learn about Satellite systems and Cardsharing.

There is an existing Satellite system in place here (FreeSat using a Fortec Star Receiver), but all the good channels are on S*y.

Can anyone here recommend a particular Dreambox I can use as a test / learning platform. I've read the 7020/ 7025 and the new 8000 are Brilliant, but as a Nubie, I dont want to spalsh out too much to start with.

Any advice / pointers in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanking you all in advance.

If you're new just get a cheap dm500s, once you've got everything working properly think about upgrading to a dm8000. Last I knew they were pretty expensive so you could be spending out on something you don't get on with.

As for card sharing, google it, it can't be discussed here
