    Clone DM800 keeps going into standby / blank screen problem?

    Hi all, got my Clone DM800 from China its boots up ok and i installed Gemini2 v4.5 FOR DM800 Clone with bootloader 72 (from this site). The Bootloader on the box is BL72.

    when it boots up, the TV screen in either scart or DVI mode goes blank if a remote button is pressed, and then it comes back?? Looks like the DM800 is going into standby (clock appears on lcd)... it evens looks as if the box is susceptible to my TV remote control... any ideas? Thanks

    Seems to be a interference wiuth the IR connector on front panel, try disconnecting front panel then re-connecting,

      Hi super, have checked the connectors, and re-inserted them all seems ok. But still getting unit going in and out of standby with any remote control keypress. This includes DVD remote and TV keypress... is there anything else i can try or is this box knackered?

          Hi Westkill, have flashed it with suggested image, it boots ok, but i'm still getting the standby issue. Say for example i press menu and press the down arrow key on the remote, the tv goes blank and the clock appears on the DM800 lcd. If i then press the down arrow key (or any other key for that matter) the screen comes back to life, exactly at the point it left from?

            Ahh could be a remote issue, try and get a replacement remote control.

              I thought it was the dm800 remote to, but it can't be that as the box is suseptible to interference from any other remote. my tv and dvd remote causes the box to go into this standby state?

                Well its a problem on the mainboard of the DM as its recieving signals just only processing any IR signal as on/off. the problem seems to be directly on the board itsself in the way its processing the information its recieving;

                  yes I agree its a main board issue , possibly an internal power supply one. Had the box on soak last night and it was going in and out of standby on its own accord without the remote being pushed.

                      re:

                      I would do, if the cost of returning to China wasn't ?96 - (Quote obtained by DHL yesterday) - This is the risk that people face if buying direct from China, although a little cheaper to buy, if there is a problem, you've lost your money.

                      If i had a circuit diagram, would try and fault find, but the internal power supply voltages seem ok when measured with a voltmeter, 12v, 5v, 3.3v and 9v are all present.

                      The strange thing with all this is the fact everything works ok until a command is received from the remote or any remote - if i could work out what the IR susceptibility issue was in the box making it go into standby, then problem would be solved. Funny enough, when it comes out of standby, it resumes from the point it left from before the screen went blank, which indicates this is not a true standby state??

                          I am now 99% sure the problem is in the display board. I took out the display board from another dm800 an connected it to the faulty receiver ( the one going into standby when using remote control ) and the problem dissapeared.

                          Hope this can help others having the same problem

                          Thanks everybody
