I am sorry to ask this, but what is capicitor and where to buy/fix this and how please. I have a clone to, with ALPS DVBS2 tuner but still have problems with HD channels. Could fix this problem another way? anyone who has been able to fix clones tuner problems?

So this is the only other way left. I know solider may be a pain but if you get someone who knows how to then you are sorted.

hi i just bought a clone dm800 i pluged it in set tuner and then scaned for services but it was only picking up 250 services then i read your post so started to investgate and i have a dm600pvr so i took the tuner out of that and put into my dm800 now its at scan done and its found 1087 services so it looks like the tuner has a problem,it says on the tuner ALPS but dont think it is an ALPS, i seen on your post that the tuner is HIG003 REV:K my tuner says HIG003 REV:J can i try the fix you have posted on that tuner i have.thanks in advance.

Got the same problem with my clone.
Working fine until today, now I cannot get any HD channels.
All other channels working.
Would this mean the tuner has gone?

Thought I would add my pennys worth, ok kept getting "tuner fail" , my set up a motorised 90cm dish to a clone dm 800hd, with a rev k alps tuner, so like a pillock I bought a origanal dm 800 hd tuner from a sat shop in Camberley Surrey, not to far from where I live, I put the new tuner in ( a rev k again?) and it showed up the same message "Tuner Failed", found out the problem...... NOT THE TUNER !!!!!! but a slight ajustment to my dish alignment, used the MAIN MENU > SETUP> 1. SERVICE SEARCHING> 6. POSITIONER SETUP, positionor fine movement, tap the yellow button a couple of times till the SNR went higher eg 67% to 70% and the dB increased 10.80 to 10.85 ect, just trial and error, your should be able to get a good signal now, it now all works fine, but then had to alter my latitude again by trail and error, seems like the snow or wind moved my dish slightly.
just a thought dont be fooled by thinking its your tuner, check your alignment first.

well lats not my problem i have had my dream 800hd for 3 months now worked a treat got all hd channels now its dead cant get any channels now,tried diff box sig perfect,cant use dreamup to flash its ~~~~ed spent all weekend trying ,when i got it worked a treat but now its ~~~~ed i will never get a clone their shit ,i know some people have luck with them but they are crap all you see is tune failed ~~~~ them pissed off fed up kick the ~~~~er in touch thats my holiday weekend

echo command telnet fix

To telnet, click START > RUN and type CMD click ok type telnet 192.168.x.x ip.address.of.dreambox
A command window will appear, enter username root and password dreambox


Telnet the box and issue this command
to see your default setting

cat /proc/stb/frontend/0/tone_amplitude

looks like 00000007

to change issue this command one at a time

echo 1 > /proc/stb/frontend/0/tone_amplitude

echo 2 > /proc/stb/frontend/0/tone_amplitude

echo 3 > /proc/stb/frontend/0/tone_amplitude


up to echo 12

Once you find a good one you need to save it to /etc/init.d/bootup so it will execute at startup
