    Advice on new DM

    Hi,

I've just bought a Dreambox 800HD with a motorised 1M dish. Cancelling my sky subscription as its just too much money. All I mostly want is some football (champs league, premier league, la liga, seria A) and some movies and possibly arabic channels (music or movies).

A friend of mine is coming to fit it next week and I just wanted to have the software side of things ready and understood so that once its fitted I can do what needs to be done.

As far as i understand (which is not much yet) I need to first flash it with a image (which would you recommend? and whats the major differences between them?)

Then I need to install a cam such as ccam (I dont really understand what these do yet, do they unlock some channels or what?)

Does anything else need to be done? what about keys? I was going to go for a technomate which seemed simpler by just putting keys in but i went for a DM instead (i know its harder to learn but i'll put in the effort)

Also what sattelites should I be aiming for to show the sports/movies that i want?

Sorry if its such a noob post but just trying to learn the basics well before i do anything. BTW the box isn't a clone.

Thank you for your time and help

    best regards

I used the latest Nabilosat Black Hole image on my DM800HD as it was very user friendly for me as a relative noobie. All the images are based on the Enigma2 so it is really the utils/addons/screens are configured and set up.

Very little sport or movies worth watching is free. Using CCcam, you could use a valid Sky card.

Certain aspects of CCcam may be of interest to you in your situation but forum rules mean that I suggest you look elsewhere for more info on what else CCcam could do for you. If you can't find anything useful, then send me a PM and I'll send you a few links for interesting reading!
