i have just bought a 800hd and have put in hd but found that the fan was not connected do i need to connect it as it is a bit load and sec qustion is is the epg rubbish on this box or am i useing it wrong please tell me how to use the epg as ionly get a couple on the list

there is an excellent epg with the nabilo firmware. its been discussed here.
as for the fan, its to keep the HDD and box cooler. not everyone has one fitted. -

It is true that not any DM 800 box has a fan. I have just received mine it is a PVR, so with neither HDD nor usual
fan .
At the very first time I wanted to power on my box, I experience a common problem among DM users, no LCD
window light in the front panel, where as it is on on rear panel(near Ethernet socket), and also on power supply
adapter.
Please recommend me a location on this forum where I can
gather maximum explanation of this problem and how to deal with it (if it ever occurs).
I must thank you in advance for providing me this tip.

i have found with some dm800 clones you may have to repeatedly remove and re insert the power adaptor. as you say for some reason the ethernet port lights up but not the front lcd. try pluging the power into the box slowly. this worked for me.Comment
