Is this the green screen of death....?

    Hi Guys....

I was wondering if anybody can help me out here. I bought a clone dreambox hd 800 pvr stb from a co.uk website based in China....grrrgh. Can anybody tell me if this box needs to go back to the seller for repair or replacement or does it simply need a firmware update? I am loathed to send it back unless it is truly a brick....any help will be gratefully apreciated. I bought it for a pal in Azerbaijan....and I wish I never bothered !!! Attached is an image of the green screen that comes up all the time.

    thanks in advance

    steve

I would re-flash it but I havent got a clue...I just bought it for the dude as his postal system in Azerbajain is as bent as a 9 bob note. I mess around with eurovox for cable so no fear of flashing..were to look is the prob for me!
If I was to flash it I would need to go thru the quite rightly hard schooling research on the DK site...no time this weekend....wae egg rollin an' all!!!

Thanks for the pointer, tho mate!!

you need to find out what bootloader it has and sim version, and download the correct image and flashing is very easy on the dm800hd..

once you have that come back and i'll tell you how to flash

Guys I have reflashed the dreambox with the Nabilo blackhole 12 with bootloader 72. I used dreamup to upload the nfi file without hassle...it takes a long time upto an hour at 11kb/s transfer rate. Anyway, powered up dreambox and connected it upto my Sk* LNB to basically test the new front-end and conduct a satellite search and eventually a channel search. All looks good and it picked up load of channels. I left it on BBC 1 for a couple of hours to ensure it didnt crash as it previously did. No problems.....so it should be friendly with all the other functionality available to the dreambox...I have'nt used any cards etc...I only wanted to know that the box front-end software was'nt gonna crash. If there is anything that I am missing...pointer will be appreciated.

            ATB Guys
