How do I tell what sim version I have??

I have a DM800 I bought off eby (was cable but changed the tuner for sat).

Sorry if this has been asked before but I've searched all day and cannot find the answer.

How can I check what sim version I have, I don't see any gold stickers on the base of the unit but I have managed to find out it has bl75 via a telnet command.

Any help on this would be great and I'm sure other will also find it helpfull.

Thanks for any help on this in advance.

      Thanks for the quick reply.

I was expecting too much to get a straight answer.

I have no idea if it's genuine but I don't think so as it has the fan and heat sink on the cpu.

      The question was

"How do I tell what sim version I have?"

Anyone who can give me an answer rather than another question would be greatly appreciated. If not don't reply.

No disrespect to you bubbles69 as I know your trying to help me out.

As I tried google DK SU and god knows how many sites (I've been a member here for a few years) to no avail I was hoping this would help other too.

If this is a stupid question can someone explain why or pm me, if they don't want to fill the forums with stupid comments?

      Thanks

mine is bl 75 , box manufactured oct 2009 , my sim is white with like a bubble in the middle , i would guess yours is same , therefore sim 2.01 , sim 1 only does bl69 , sim 2 does upto 72 i believe although could be wrong (i tried searching chinese clone support forum to verify but cant connect lately). Have you physically looked at the sim , ooooh sorry , thats a question , scratch that ,

            It's most likely 2.01 mate.

I agree reading the message back it does sound like I was having a go at bubbles69 and for that I am very sorry.

:Bubbles69 please accept my sincerest apollogies as I wasn't directing all that at you. I had spent many many hours searching the net for the answer to identifying what sim version I have. I perhaps misunderstood you question as it seemed you were being sarcastic.

.: JaCkPoT :. I have the upmost respect for you and the time/effort you put into what is a great site. You have helped a large number of people and I would not want to be the cause of stopping any of that.

:southpaw Thank you for a very helpful and honest answer, I hadn't looked at the sim but I will now, after your advice. I don't mind questions when they are related to the solution of a problem and are backed up with info like you gave. This ultimately helps others when they search for solutions and cuts down on the same question being asked over and over again.

:witchy2k1 Thank you, any reason why that would be the case. Is the bootloader directly related to sim version?

I moved over to DK when DEVILFISH moved from DW, this is the site of choice for almost everything I love about the digital age so to everyone that helps on this site:

              THANK YOU.

I've just opened up the DM800 and took out the sim, which is white but does not have the bubble on it.

I googled dm800 sim and found a pic of them (from DW).

                So question is

How do I know what sim version I have. Surely there must be a way of checking via telnet or from a addon?

Is the bootloader directly linked to the sim version?

I only wanted to know so I could ensure I get the correct image for my box. Most images state bl & sim version.

Don't want to bugger it all up.

                    do this,
Take a pic of the sim and upload it. That will let us see what sim you have.

When you telnet 'ipkg list', all the results or whatever you want to call them come in alphabetical order, scroll up to D.

                          OK, Is this normal?

In the web shell it says 72 as bootloader but when I check via telnet it says 75??

                          I don't get it.

Yup, that's what I thought. The image on the box currently is Nabilo sat Blackhole (mid june 09 release I think) and the box production date was 03/03/09 so I'd expect it to be 72.

I just don't understand why it tell me differently via telnet once booted.

                              Thanks for the help bubbles69
