    Is Sirius 4.8e obtainable?

    Hi Guys

I have a 1mtr motorised dish, dm800, with nabilo blackhole image.

just wondering if its possible to get channels off sirius 4.8e?

i have tried but cant seem to get a signal?

i have been told viasat will be showing all the prem footy on this sat next season, so it would be great to have it.

    thanks in advance.

I can pick up 4.8e. I have a 1m dish and I'm just outside North London.

You should be fine with the european beam, as long you haven't got any objects blocking the dish

There are two types of beam on 4.8E .
        Nordic and European .
The Nordic beam is not receivable in the UK unless you have a very big dish ~1.4m
SIRIUS 4 BSS Nordic beam - SES ASTRA
The European beam should be receivable on an 8ocm dish but unfortunately the vast majority of the Viasat channels are on the Nordic beam .

Well this will put a spanner in the works, I'm on the outskirts of Manchester and pick up the nordic beam OK with a 85cm fracco dish and Inverto LNB.

Can watch TV1000 Family, Viasat Sports etc etc.

The question is not whether 4.8e is obtainable ,its whether the Nordic beam of 4.8e is obtainable as that is what most Viasat channels are on.
The European beam is obtainable on an 80cm in most parts of the UK ,as are the Akta channels.
The Nordic BSS beam of Viasat cannot be received in the Uk on anything less than a 1m dish and that is even on the East coast .
                      Look at the footprint here

So to answer the op's question ,you will not be able to receive Viasats football channels on 4.8e unless you have a big dish.

                          OK I'll try again.

I can receive the Nordic BSS Beam from 4.8e in Manchester with a 85cm dish.
You are welcome to come round and I will show you.

Don't always believe what official footprint maps show you.

Fair enough M8,I stand corrected ,the footprint maps do indeed seem to be off .
I'm in Ireland and not a whiff of the Nordic beam on a 1m dish.

Are receivers able to see this high number of fixed LNBs? I was looking at DB500S set up and I thought the maximum fixed LNBs it can see is 4?
