Yes its not a easy setup but it can be done.

I have seen somewhere on the net the setup you use and the number of switches required.

You can also get 8-1 switches, they are not very common in the UK but have a look at some German satshops and you will see. Mine is a EMP P.168v2.

I use a 8-1 switch here, you have to setup your lnb's in menu as
    committed.

diseqc 1.1 allows for up to 16 sources I believe (but I think I"d get a headache trying to figure it all out) I"ll stick to my motor.

        well i'm a bit puzzled...

        i have a 1mtr dish, on a motor...with dm800 blackhole..

        i seem to get 13e, 16e, 19e, 0.8w...really well...

but somehow with 4.8e i cant seem to scan the satellite?

if i put certain trasnponder numbers in it finds some channels...

but none of the viasat ones...

i'm guessing im out of luck?

by the way, my image shows 4.8 as thor2/serius?
i thought it was astra 4a???

        cheers guys..
        New Season...New hope! YNWA.

Sateuropa sell both the 8-1 and 16-1 EMP switches.

just wondering if its possible to get channels off sirius 4.8e?

i have tried but cant seem to get a signal?

1 your dish is not following the satellite arc (clark belt)

2 your dish is not installed properly

2 your pole is pissed (needs to be plumb on all sides)

Reloadedc some of the tp on 4.8e should be very strong but as others have said the Nordic beam is much weaker. With a perfectly aligned dish you maybe lucky though. Once you got a lock on a tp (any) try manually driving it the maximum quality and then scan

On a 1m dish in Edinburgh and I can pull the Viasat channels in.

You're not the first person from the South who is having trouble with 4.8e.
If you can send your dish to 4.8e and then you will then have to go outside and at the same time look at your signal bars in the menu and just tap your dish left and right and then gently raise or lower your dish from the base to see if you get any gain in signal. If you dish then dish is not setup correctly.

I get 4.8 on my DM800 clone with blackhole.

I am in St Helens, Merseyside with 1m dish.

On the strongest transponder (from the sticky), I think I get high 70% signal (from memory), but Viasat I pull in around 50% mark, maybe a bit higher.

It also shows as Astra on my list, but get all the packages I need ie Viasat.

                            Redone, did you sort it???

I was messing around over the weekend, making sure it was all in shape for the new season. Like to furtle my dish a bit to get best signal.

Sometimes find it's best to search for a sat using manual transponder from the list as apposed to just trusting the list in the box, so to speak.

The viasat is weak anyway, so not the best to do a search with.
