    Hi Mate ,

    1.is this a good image?
gemini 5 is a good image , other good images are Dreamelite , newnigma ,its all down to personal preferance

2.is there a lot of difference between the different images?
some images are more stable than others , some uses have issues running certain images on clones , picture quality differs between some images

3.if i want to try another image do i need a null cable to flash?
Flash just using web browser , firefox or IE ,no need for null cable , unless you flash wrong image

4.when you flash another image do you lose all your settings etc?
Yes , good idea to backup all your settings , plugin called nfi backup

5.how do i set the time/clock on my present image?
Not to sure on gemini , presume it be somewhere in the menu , settings option

6.ive put some picons onto my usb pendrive but the box isnt seeing them.how do i get it to see them?
Download your picon plugins from green panel , should configure them to work perfectly , Make sure your usb is formatted and mapped in device manager

I think time is set by satellite so you won't get anything till your dish is setup, only thing you can alter is timezone you are in (this is the case on DE image so i'm assuming Gemini is the same)

Yes time is set when the box receives correct time from the sat you are pointing at. you must configure your time-zone also in set-up as new boxes are set in German time + 1hour

I personally would change the image to dreamelite 1.3.3 much easier to set-up than Gemini I find..

bubbles69, can you please tell me is there "option hide locked services" and "delete" on dreamelite 1.3.3? I am currently using Pli Jade and both this options are included in the image.

Well yes and no. You se I had had both Gemini and Nabilo Darkstar images installed and none of them had that options, yes you can ad the services to black list, but they will still show on the channel list and, while with Pli you have that option on Parental control options to hide locked channels.

Yes but they will still show on a service list (with a padlock)

Just be careful if you flash your box with another image, I'm sure you have to use patched images for clones.
