DM800 dead

Was just watching the Football on a hd channel and suddenly the Dm800 just goes blank.

I cant switch it on.

Tried plugging it in a few times but still no power.

tried to connect it up to dream up but was no good It said please switch on dreambox.

The lcd screen is not coming on and neither can I hear anything booting from inside the box.

I will leave it to cool and take a look in an hour or so.

Any Ideas, is it Knackered.

prob ur power supply plug is dead, is the green light on when switched on (psu)

yeah power supply is working, the green light is on.

tried another power supply same result light is on but box wont boot.

Same 2 power supplies are able to power my 500 correctly.

DM800 dead

Hi, i too have the same prob i think? I was watching tv then suddenly went dead? When i connect power supply to the box the oled screen comes on briefly for about 1/2 second hdd spins up and usb fan underneath the box comes on but thats it, doesnt boot up or anything else? Any body got suggestions or is the boxed dead and buried?

i had the same prob with my dm800 the green light was on ,so i thought my box was gone,then i tried my old dm500 lead.and it worked a treat,you got to try it first

Tuner

Hi again, thanks for the suggestions, have tried them but still nothing. I have removed the tuner and the box boots up perfectly, can get in all menus etc but obviously no tv picture as no tuner, this points to a tuner fault stopping box from booting. Also I have read in the forums that there should be a fan on the heatsink. Mine didnt come with a fan but i have had it sat on a usb laptop cooler. Does anyone have a 'how to do' to fit the fan? Will have to purchase a new (L3 type) tuner? Will let ya know the outcome.

DM800 Dead?

Hi, i installed the new L3 tuner today, along with a mini fan which i connected across the hdd red/black. It booted up fine, hd channels still glichy? When i powered it down and later on tried to power it up it just keeps rebooting itself now and enigma wont start.
Flashing red led, says booting, then goes black and reboots???
Anybody have any suggestions plz?

Hi, im using Nabilo clone image bl72. I have had no probs with this box for almost 9 months?
I removed the tuner again and it booted once so i installed 'latest' drivers for dvb tuner. It wont boot at all now with or without tuner. The network lights on the back come on dim? I have checked voltage into unit 12.45vdc then 12.25vdc when inserted so doesnt seem to be dropping too much? I have read through the forums on here and on different sites and people seem to be having similar probs but no solutions as of yet.
Slowly driving me mad!!

Hi, thanks mate for the link but i have actually contacted that user. I would have paid double if i could have taken it to him but he didnt repond? Am looking for a new un now :-(
