DM 800 (orginal not clone) stability and config issue

    Hi,
Ive had a DM800 (proper) running nabilo 0.12 without issue since about March. all working on an USALS setup. Recently the box started to stop sending anything to thr DVI and the screen and audio would just go blank. A quick flick to standby and back on would resolve the issue. However today things have got more serious as the box will no longer even boot correctly. I thought my image was corrupted so i reflashed a clean image of nabilo onto the box and and put back my /etc/enigma2 settings (incidentially from here ! thanks!). Rebooted and still no joy... is my box foobared? Is this a power issue ? Is there any kind of warranty on the psu or box? i'm hoping so as I can reflash to a stock image and take it back...

< update - I've managed to get my settings back on but the USALS config appears to be foobared. Not sure what settings I need to get it working again.. Dish currently poiting at 19.2E with good signal... but when I select any other service its just greyed and and unavailable and the dish isnt moving!!! Arrgh! What have i done!> Any advice on getting USALS going again would be most welcome. It just ''worked'' when i put installed it orginally!

I've set my LAT/LONG in the tuner config. Not sure what else i need to do!

< l - update 2 - after a bit more fiddling and another reboot usals is working again and i can now see them all again

god knows what i did but i'll take a snap of the image before doing anything else!

If it carries on being unpredictable i'll flash the stock image and send it back!>

    <thanks for the link westkill!>

    thanks
    Bob.

any info appreciated... so much for plain sailing

    Bob.

Ok. Reflashed and working except that now when i boot it takes for ever and the screen cycles thru loads of different colours during the enigma-2 load sequence....very very odd. now not booting again... to epg

Is / supposed to be at 99% full? If not then maybe this is the problem (no space on root fs).. but what's filling it...

there a large file /proc/kcore but im guessing thats the actual image of the memory on the box which is running..

      anyone had similar issues?

the original image should leave 70% free in teh flash. Do you have any USB attached, an internal drive or running multi-boot images?

        1. Reset to factory default the current image from DMM. Also ensure that you have the latest one flashed and with the latest Bootloader. Think its #76

Check the mem without adding anything else.

Suggest you also try to flash with another 3rd party image from scratch. Try GP2. Then see if the issue happens again.

I found 2 faulty DVI outputs on two separate DM800s. If this is the case, the conenctors need to be replaced and only the dealer/DMM can do this.

If you flash another image aside from Nabilo and it works, could be your Nabilo is nulled.

Can you post your boxes bootup log? You can get this by FTPing into the box with DCC for enigma 2 machines.

Completely blatted and rebuilt..again... now seems to all be working bar CCcam....grrrr. For whatever reason its not picking up my clines properly from the config...

it must be one of those days.

          < fixed - wrong clines enter - doh! >

now to make a full backup nfi of the box...

thanks for the advice on rma ing and about the DVI port. If it starts doing it again I'll call the place i got it from and see they can fix it. if not a reflash and ship back to DM for a fix i guess..

          many thanks
          Bob.

check you placed in var/etc dir and that your files CHMOD is readable by CCam. Alternatively, remove the plugin and install from the blue panel. then install a config file as well. Them replace it with your original. At least, all files will go by default to the correct location and you just replace.
