    setting up my motor

DB800hd....got my motor on centre used my technomate
and a meter to get right on 1w...hook it onto my DB enter my long and lat go to 1 w to scan it after following the usuals guide at the top of page, press scan it the dish moves to about 5w then starts scanning.
How do i after i set up my true south save this in the DB so it knows its on my true south.
Been messing for ages with this keep having to go a centre my dish over and over again.

On the TM driving it to zero is it on 1w...
zero=1w.....my true south sat then the
DB moves it west to 1w once i try and scan
      with it.
With my sat dish centred i have a 95% signal
on BBC news 1west...change to DB scan 1w
it moves it west OFF 1w then scans nothing
      if you follow.

drive it to zero somehow with the technomate , must be a menu in there somewhere ? satfinder or somethin , failing that use the buttons on the motor itself to drive to zero , then hook up dm800 and drive to 1w

Right....your probable trying to explain something i cant understand the way your telling it.

When installing a motor or dish
          1.Find the true south sat----1w
2.Set your motor to 0 then move the dish
left to right and check dish elevation till
the meter sings.....your now on your true
south satellite, the motor should be at 0
and your signal should be strong.

I have did this using a TM and a meter, mostly my
          meter.

have you put your long and lat in menu ?, selected usals ?
if not have a look in here , http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-dm800-108809/

btw , 1w is not south , zero on your motor should be south , 1w is one degree off south , therefore your dreambox is driving it from 1w to 2w (in search of 1w) , as your starting point is one degree out , 1w and not south ,
