DM800HD clone vs genuine

I am thinking of buying a HD box but dunno which one to get. Which one is better. Is it worth paying an extra 179 for the real one (from sateuropa). Also what is the difference between 500hd and 800hd and what is this simcard. Sorry dont have a clue about these boxes. been using 500c for 2 years have to change now

Also are there any other good alternatives like how is the the Azbox

m8 there is loads of posts about db800 real and clones.

There is noting wrong with the db800 clone, I have owned both the real thing and the clone, I still have the clone.

Make sure you get one with sim_2.01

I have read some threads and everyone seems to like the VU+ DUO box, will it have the same sort of functionality and support as the dreambox. Can i use the dreambox images on this box

the azbox was overhyped. two years later and still in beta. ( yes, i have one).
however, if the ripper succeeds with enigma 2 (and i believe he will) then it could become one of the most advanced hardware spec receiver on the market.
(well, maybe after the Reelbox Avantgarde II but thats four times the price).

as for clones, main advantage is the're half the price and work better than the originals.
you can now load genuine images provided you have sim 2.01 or ferrari.

go for it.

(no doubt those two anti-clone posters will have their say).

Both the Clone and Original Dreambox 800HD are no coming to the end of there Life and will soon be decommisiond by Dream-Multimedia, Support will gradually fall off as is the Case with the original 500SD at the moment.

Your only wasting your money considering an original Dreambox 800HD as there is a New one coming soon The 800HD-se.

As for the newer Dreambox clones, the manufactuers are placing only the weaker NXP 320 MHz MIPS Processor, there are better receivers on the market than a Dreambox Clone.....

doubt you could get a dm800 clone from uk for ?150 mate , cheapest uk supplier i found with good spec box is Worlds No.1 HD satillite receiver - DM8000 , mention you are a member here and he may do some discount !

general opinion in china support forum says ferrari sim is a much better option than 2.01,

Exactly my point...Thats about the price buying direct from China,but i'd be very surprised if anyone in the UK is selling at that price.

I have the VU+Duo ( living room ) too, and it is a great box but its ?400.

My db800 clone ( bedroom ) is running latest open pli image and works 100%.

Even if support stops for the db800 which wont happen for a long time yet then its no great loss because the box has peaked any way and not much more can be done to improve it. So if you never had another update for the next 5 years it would still be a top box.
