DM 800 sat scan. Clear before scan yes/no?

    Hi

Sorry if this has been answered a hundred times, I have looked over the net, but cannot seem to find an answer and I dont want to do it wrong.

It's a this point when I want to scan a sat again:-

Change "type of scan" to "single satelitte".

    "Networkscan" should be "yes"
"Clear before scan" should be "no"/ "yes"
"Only free scan" should be "no"

It's the part Clear before scan. Some advise says yes, some no.

Would you not want to clear before a rescan, or is it only no when you are doing a single transponder scan and you dont want to clear all the others????????

    Thanks in advance.

When you have good signal and good position dash "Clear before scan" should be "yes"
Past scan you have only all new channels old is deleted.

        Suppose its personal preference.

I always clear before scan so as to get a fresh install of all channels.

This can actually be a bastard if your dish was moved in the wind as a new scan might not pick up weaker channels until you re-align it.

Channel files , says channels have move transponder .
I know how move them from all channels to fav etc

Clear before scan will delete all channels on that satellite but will re-scan them in once again. Turn network scan on also as that checks for new updated signals.

Channels do change frequency from time to time, best thing to do is keep an eye on http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...ularly-163750/ for updates, then you just update your bouquet's, don't pay anyone for this.
