VU+ duo is a better purchase imho! why be fake with clones when there is a box such as the vu+ duo out for the same price, if not lower price tag

DM8000 are higher spec than VU Duo though..support for 4 tuners, built in WIFI, DVD drive can be installed, SPDIF output, built in flash card readers etc..

my advice is why waste you money on a clone when you can get a good built vu duo
do you own a dm8000 clone.

                the vu duo aint perfect.

                - Different hardware not compatible with DM addon hardware (Tuners etc).
                - No extra slots for Tuner boards (on DM8000 we have 2 more).
                - 2 CI, instead of the 4 CI on the DM8000...
                - HDMI port and not DVI (Remember HDMI specifications on blocking recording !).
                - Not possible to put internally a DVD player/burner.
                - DiSEqC problems with external positioner. (comfirmed by martin pipe in the wotsat test so must be true).
                - No blind search.
                - No standby button.
                - No widely support as for DM8000 with many images.
                - looks like johnny five.
                - no cf reader.
                - no sd reader.

                i could go on.

well its always advised to get from a reputable seller i.e that delivers from uk next day and if any problems its only ?5 to return unlike 30 quid to china etc, you you must be careful many rouge sellers out there..!!

Has anyone used Dreambox.me.uk, Best Prices on Dreambox and CCTV the prices seem a bit too good, without postage of course.

I typed in linuxsat and like others here I got the above website.

Just to be clear on this one his statement in the review about the external positioner was 100% incorrect, we supplied the receiver to What Satellite for the test... The bottom line is he didn't know how to set the image up for use with an external positioner such as a V-Box, once I'd pointed him in the right direction of instructions it worked perfectly as I'm sure he'd be happy to confirm, unfortunately the review had already gone to print by then as it was a real tight deadline.
