DM800C with S tuner

hi,
had the cable tuner in but purchased a sat version which ive plugged in.
am getting no tuner in a or b

Is there specific boot loaders/images drivers that I need to install?

what image you using

ive tried a few but they seem to all want to keep on rebooting when loading up.
the only image I got to actually boot up was a PLI beta

I must be doing something wrong!

its a clone about 1 year old.

you normaly get the rebooting if the tuner is faulty.
see if the box boots ok without tuner or try with the cable one back in.

I thought it was the tuner as the images i was trying didnt reboot with the tuner taken out so i contacted the seller and he/she point me to this image

How can I get the box to read my sky card? I have a full subscription but want to use this box in the bedroom so I can occasionly take the card out and watch it in the bedroom?

Latest tuner is rev M work on dm800 mainboard rev J and K the L3 tuner had problems with computability with the older dm800 motherbards J, new rev M works good for HD as 295000 symbol rate is now fixed in this new revison

cant remember where i read it but other people seem to be having problems with the revision L of the tuner(someone had 3 DM800's cant find the thread now)

the box reboots itsself several times at the bootloading stage before it gets to loading image. eventually it will just load and once its loaded im very please with it thanks to dcypter. very frustrating though as it can be 4 reboots or 40!!!

does anyone think there will be a software fix to this or will it mean I have to shell out for a new rev m tuner?

hi bubbles,can u tell me what u mean when u say (295000 symbol rate is now fixed in this new revison),wud this have anthing to do with me not being able to view some channels on 0.8w like some slovak channels on upc direct like tv markiza,ta3,tv doma, all saying tune failed even tho i can pick them up ok when scanning them,signal seems to be ok on that 0.8w also,prob about 60snr,thanks

Yes HD are in 2950000 symbol rate old L3 tuners struggle with this, but is now fixed in rev M...

also fixed in rev M is compatibility issue with rev J main motherboard of dm800 causing the constant rebooting now rev M works on all mainboards unlike L3

Think the channels I get tuned failed on are symbol rate 28000,I was thinking I needed a stronger lmb,but I'll take ur advice and get myself a new tuner then and hope it solves my problem,all other channels ok on all sats including hd its just mostly them few slovak channels on 0.8w,thank u
