Dreambox DM800HD & optical audio out.

Hi guys,

maybe a dumb question but I browsed all the menues of dm800 like 1000 times and still cannot find where to enable optical audio out (toslink).

HDMI out works fine for me but with optical I believe there is better possibility to transfer DD sound to my receiver.

Any help?

i would have thought ready to go but if plugging in to an amp that port will need to be set up on amp

optical out is always on, i have it for surround sound. not all channels have support dd though. just check by pressing the audio button.

about the amp: amp is set okay, also the functionality of optical in is tested with another device...

about the opt on dm800hd: you say that optical is always on ... so this is propably my problem because when I connect via tested working toslink cable the sound is still continuing to go via dvi-hdmi cable and toslink is transfering nothing ... thats why I asked about some special menu I propably dont see where is possibly to activate or set which audio out will be used ...

also possibility that optical out on my dm800hd is dead?

plain and simple, plug the optical in to the dm800, put it on sky sports/movies. then look at the other end of the cable. can you see a red light?
