    cant play imported films on hdd

    hi chaps i have a dm800hd with blackhole installed
    i have an external hdd thats plugged into the usb port on the dreambox recording is working fine

    when i ftp a film to the hdd folder it appears on the dreambox but will not play the file is avi

    any suggestions

      I have the same problem. Probably some plugin needed.

          As far as I know Dreambox can only play MPEG's, two options open are to either convert the AVI first to an MPEG or use VLC as a transcoder between an AVI located on your PC and your dreambox (basically VLC will convert the AVI to MPEG on the fly).

              lets hope someone can help to honest mate i'm having a nightmare with this dm800hd

              the support feels really limited i've managed to scan my sats but still need to be fine tuned and cant seem to save the settings nightmare
