dish alignment

    dish alignment

    hi all i've got a dm800hd whith a 1m motorised dish and when i set up usals and go to find astra28.2 i get a 99% alignment
    and no signal so when i search for channels i get tune failed but if i go to find arabsat 30.5 using usals i get 99% alignment
    and 92% signal i then search 28.2 even though the usals says its
    on30.5 and i get all the channels on astra28.2 so am i right in thinking my dish is out by about 2 deg if so could i move the dish manualy 2 deg and reset the dish to get it aligned for use whith usals. and its a long way up my ladder

      If your in the UK best thing is start from scratch. Make sure Lat and Long are correct plumb up pole and point dish due south. Drive dish to 1W BBC news and fine tune from there. Once you pick up 1W the others will fall into place

          thanx m8 was hoping that i could align without starting from scratch but it looks like i'll have to bite the bullet.

              You could try moving your Long settings up and down a couple of notches at at a time first, see if that makes a difference, EG 2.8 down to 2.6 then 2.4 etc and then upwards 2.8. 3.0 etc,

                  the bracket then manually move it till i find thor 1w with the motor set at zero

                      I wouldn't loosen anything until I have sent it to 1W Thor and checked the signal rate. Whilst making it go to 1W I would also check the signal on 19E and 13E. You can't be hughley out of alignment if you are getting 99% on 28.2E.
