still a headache trying to watch movies from pc,vlc all set up,connects to drive on my pc from dream but nothing shows up,yet i know movies r there,confused

exact same problem as you. followed a setup guide to the letter. connetcs to my pc media drive ok, open folder where my movies are stored, but nothing comes up at all.
anyone help please?

When you open vlc add web interface, make sure firewall allows vlc and use earlier version of vlc. Latest versions wont work for me, i'm using 0.86

I'm using vlc 1.0.5 and all working great on windows 7, you have insert your dreambox ip into the .host file (edit it with notepad) which is located in wherever you installed vlc on your pc. If you don't do that then it wont work.

It will work without doing any of that, i'm running vlc for movies no probs.

hasnt found nothing with that version either bulldog,thanks m8,hope to get it running by hook or by crook,does me head in[sorry for slow replys,decorating here aswell}
