    DM 800 clone bomb

HI all, i have a DM800 HD PVR

    was working fine until sunday.
When i ppower on the box: nothing on the font panel
    fan is turning
    ethernet led is on.
i tried to reflash it with dreamup but the box is not booting so my computer can not even access to it.

I think that is caused by the bomb after i changed the image.

    any idea?

What image did you have on the box??
Use Dreamup 1.3.3.4 or another version if you have tried it and try it with null modem and ethernet together.
Post back your results, these boxes are like this sometimes so be patient.

    Andy.

      DM800 malfunction

This could be a coincidence but when I switched on my DM800 on Sunday morning it refused to boot up also, after looking at the situation I realised that the lights on the Ethernet socket were lighting up but the front panel was dead, I have tried everything, the power out of the power supply shows 12.3v but I don't know if it supplies the required current when on load. I tried my supply from my DM500s but this did not male any differnce ( maybe because it will only supply 2A and the DM800 power supply is a 3A unit).

The image is DreamEliteBH_DM800_72. (almost sure)

Really stuck here and any help no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks for your time

Pretty sure the power supply for the dm500 will work on the Dm800 i used to mix mine ok so that rules out the power supply.

Download a fresh image and keep trying with different versions of Dreamup.

Sometimes putting in the power supply in and out quickly works,i had similar problem

Thanks for the info about the power supplies Andy, I will keep trying and keep everyone informed about the progress (or lack of).

          Everyone's input is important here.

          Thanks again

What version of Dreamup have you used?1.3.3.4 seems to be the best but use null and ethernet together.

I stay away from Gemini images and stick to Nabilosats Blackhole 012 or DreamElites Blackhole, try and flash one of those if you can.

              Andy.

                I used
                1.2.2.0
                2.14b
                1.3.3.5
                1.3.3.4
                1.3.2.1

                with and without ethernet.
the problem is still the same: the box is NOT booting at all so dreamup can not acces to it.

Have you tried it with a null modem cable??

Looks ok as long as its not a cross over cable.

Take it you are starting Dreamup first on pc then adding power to Dreambox??

Another option is to try and flaash with the browser option.
