Wouldnt say the best mate but popular because of price as most are clones so you get good ones and bad ones because of build quality.
If you want a better quality box i would go for a Vu Do but only if you have plenty of coin.
    Buy from Ukdreamshop.

the reason its known as the best is because of the support you can get for a dm800, but ike the chap says, you need to know what your doing and where to get a decent one from

      dc
Wavefield Ds 55cm at 13E 19E and 28E receiving everything out there on 2 dm800hd

previous life dm800hd and 500c on cable screw you nag3

I recently bought a DM800, if I could turn the clock back then with hindsight I would probably go for a Vu Do. I had no experience of these boxes, didn't know that clones existed, that they had sim cards, different images for different bootloaders, etc. I just thought a dreambox was a dreambox, you bought it, flahsed it with any old image and off you go.

It was quite a steep learning curve and a lot of wrong turnings but eventually I got there. I think a Vu Do would be a lot less hassle. Even now that I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing, now that I'm set up and running I am very loath to go tinkering with settings or changing images in case things go wrong.
