Stream from PC to DB (VLC Method) Issue

I seem to have everything setup. I can broswe the mkv's from my dreambox to the location on the PC, but when I try and play them the screen goes blank on my TV and i have an error on VLC.

File reading failed:

I've tried various different resolutions, bitrates but nothing is working for me.

For what it's worth I am in the same boat as you. I've played about with all the settings I can find and haven't got to the bottom of it.

I also couldn't find the log that it said to check for details. Unless it is in some strange folder like \application data\ but I couldn't find any log files under program files\vlc

Eventually I gave up. Using Windows 7 on my PC, dream elite black hole on the dreambox.
