DM800+ help get me started plz

ive just bought a dm800+ or pro as its listed on some other websites.. this is what it came with:

dreambox 800+
boot76,gemi5.1,sim2.01,tunner alps M

I have read as much as i can on here about how to flash, bouquets for channel sorting and where to get images like blackhole ect..

I still dont feel none the wiser and before rushing and installing anyold crap on there i wanted to get some advice.

Lots of things about flashing, bootloaders, CCAM ect..

What do i have to do first? the outcome i want is that ive got a cline that i want to use, scan for channels and watch to my hearts content.

Someone please help.

Ant I assume you are connected to your dish locked on astra 28.2e. You need to load a working bouquet (channel lists) via dreambox edit, and ftp it to your box. Configure your tuner for 28.2e you will get all the info on how to from this site. When you get this far you should be able to view FTA channels. For the other channels do a bit more reading. It will take a little time, but you will get there Good luck

so i dont need to load images or flash it or do anything with the bootloader at this stage? is it already preinstalled on the one ive bought? yea ive got normal sly dish attached to it. once ive ftp the sly bouqet, locked on to the astra.. how do i put my cline in?

Thats the part you cant disscuss on here mate. type that into your search engine mate. but if the config file you need isnt already there you should be able to download that via plugins on your box, I assume you have it connected to the internet.

ok mate, i know its a dark area on here thats why i havent really mentioned much on the cs side.. Just how to program the box really. Ill have a look at the config file you say.

Any particular software best used for getting into the box to view the config files ect?

Have you plugged the box in yet, regards setting it up in any way.

Any ftp prog will do. flash fxp etc. username root.. pass dreambox.. go to Var/Etc your config file is in there.Enter tour cline in the config file. Make sure you download Cccam and use it as your main cam

can u elaberate on the ccam bit? how do i install it on the box?

i may be mistaken but i think that box already comes with the cccam installed.
"dont rush to install items on cloned boxes" is what i learned from this forum...

brill, i just ordered the right null cables to connect upto the box so once im in ill locate the config file and edit the ccam file with the new cline?

What about "increased voltage" yes/no?

I think you guy's need to setup your boxes 1st ftp a set of working channel settings to your box using dreambox edit or dreamset 2nd of all read the stickies, the threads at the top in red...setting up using usals and setting up non usals. then you need to go into tuner configuration and set up correctly, then you can use whatever ftp programe you like, go into the var/ect folder. Open the cccam config file, enter your -line save and close, then restart your box. That should be it..... You may get something wrong but dont get stressed, it will be something simple go through it again.

Thanks - I have transferred a channel bouquet to the box using dreambox edit and set up a couple of sats ok,

But, I would like to know what the "network scan" option does (I set it to 'no') and the increased voltage option (I set that to no too).

Moreover, does the download section of the forum contain updated bouquet please? as the one I tried (E? Sats From 45E To 30W Cajton Dreambox Settings 09-11-10) misses, for example, LUXE Tv on 9 east which is HD Fta.
